- A: Left · day · 15
15 stays 15 - B: Top · month · 5
May is month 5 - C: Right · year · 19
1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 - D: Bottom · anchor · 12
15 + 5 + 19 → 12 - E: Center · core theme · 6
15 + 5 + 19 + 12 → 6
Start with center E = 6. Follow the labeled anchors, then read one line at a time. Numbers and formulas use the digit-sum convention.
Start with the five anchors
The left point, A, comes from the day of birth. The top point, B, is the month. The right point, C, comes from the sum of the year’s digits. The bottom point, D, is the reduced sum of A, B, and C. The center, E, is the reduced sum of all four outer anchors. Every completed value above 22 is reduced by adding its digits. A value of 22 stays 22.
For 15 May 1990, the five anchors are 15, 5, 19, 12, and 6. The year calculation is 1+9+9+0=19. The bottom total is 15+5+19=39, which becomes 12. The center total is 15+5+19+12=51, which becomes 6. These steps establish the chart before any interpretation is written.
Read position before meaning
A number does not have one identical application everywhere. Arcana 6 at the center invites reflection on connection and choice. The same value on a talent axis shifts the question toward cooperation or working with different preferences. Neither position proves that you have a particular trait.
Select a circle in our interactive chart to see its position, number, and formula together. If a sentence seems especially relevant, write down a real example before accepting it. If it does not fit, that is useful information too. The chart should not overrule your experience.
Explore one line at a time
The paternal and maternal lines cross the center diagonally. They offer a symbolic framework for reflecting on learned family patterns. The love and finance channels share a balance point on the lower-right side. The bottom vertical sequence is commonly called the karmic tail.
Choose the line that interests you most and read its values in order. The order matters because each position has a different role. Avoid collecting alarming labels from unrelated combinations or assuming that one difficult-sounding card determines your future. The names are symbols, not events.
Turn a reading into a small experiment
A useful interpretation ends with something you can observe. If your center theme is connection, you might practice making one clear request. If a talent theme suggests structure, try a checklist for a recurring task. Notice what changes and what does not.
Keep the experiment modest and reversible. Do not use a chart to make medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions. Comparing the reading with your life is more informative than trying to force your life into its language. Revisit the same note after a week with curiosity rather than a need to prove the chart right.
An annotated Destiny Matrix chart example
The example diagram above labels the five anchors A through E. Match each label to its position before reading a meaning. A is left, B is top, C is right, D is bottom, and E is the center. Smaller circles between them are derived positions, rather than additional birth-date inputs. The corner circles join neighboring anchors, while the colored diagonals identify the generation lines.
For this date, A = 15 and B = 5. The year gives C = 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19. D = reduce(15 + 5 + 19) = reduce(39) = 12. E = reduce(15 + 5 + 19 + 12) = reduce(51) = 6. A screen label such as “core energy” names the reading context; E identifies the precise calculation. Use both when comparing charts.
A beginner reading order you can repeat
Begin with E, the center. Read the Arcana name and one short question, then note a specific experience that fits or disagrees. Next look at A, the day anchor, for the outward-expression prompt, and B, the month anchor, for the talent prompt. Do not treat the largest circle, brightest color, or repeated value as a ranking of importance. Visual emphasis helps you navigate the diagram.
After those three positions, choose a topic: a relationship question, a work habit, a family pattern, or a recurring response. Read its line in the order used by this calculator. Stop after one useful question instead of trying to interpret every small circle. On a second visit, return to the same position and compare your notes. The arithmetic stays fixed; your examples and understanding can change.
Read center 6 in the example
The example center is 6, the Lovers in this numbering convention. Our editorial theme is connection and choice. At the center, a useful question is how you balance your own preferences with a desire to cooperate. That is different from assuming the person must be romantic, indecisive, or destined for a particular relationship. The number supplies a vocabulary, while lived experience supplies the evidence.
Try describing one recent choice involving another person. What did you want, what did you communicate, and what did you decide? Then describe a choice you made independently. Looking at both examples keeps the theme from becoming an explanation for everything. If neither example makes the reading useful, choose a different question. Recognizing yourself in a sentence is optional, and disagreement does not mean you calculated the chart incorrectly.
Follow the example love and money lines
For 15 May 1990, D1 = reduce(D + E) = reduce(12 + 6) = 18. C1 = reduce(C + E) = reduce(19 + 6) = 7. The shared balance is K = reduce(D1 + C1) = reduce(18 + 7) = 7. The heart point is reduce(D1 + K) = reduce(18 + 7) = 7; the money point is reduce(C1 + K) = 14.
The love sequence therefore reads 18 → 7 → 7, and the finance sequence reads 7 → 14 → 7. Locate the heart and money symbols on the dashed lower-right channel. Their proximity does not make the two readings interchangeable. The love line can prompt a question about assumptions and communication; the money line can prompt a question about pace or routine. Neither is a relationship score or an estimate of future income.
Separate generation lines from the karmic tail
The paternal diagonal connects F → E → H. In this example, F = reduce(15 + 5) = 20 and H = reduce(19 + 12) = 4, giving 20 → 6 → 4. The maternal diagonal connects G → E → I: G = reduce(5 + 19) = 6 and I = reduce(12 + 15) = 9, giving 6 → 6 → 9. These are optional family-reflection prompts, not a record of anyone’s conduct.
The karmic tail is a separate vertical sequence below the center. It uses D1 → D2 → D, where D2 = reduce(D + D1). Here D2 = reduce(12 + 18) = 3, so the tail is 18 → 3 → 12. If another chart prints 12 → 3 → 18, first check whether it orders the same positions from the bottom upward. Reversed presentation and different arithmetic are two distinct reasons for an apparent mismatch.
Check a chart that gives different numbers
First compare the input date and named reduction convention. This site adds digits only after a completed total exceeds 22. Some calculators subtract 22 instead. Both approaches use a 1–22 range, so matching one small value does not establish that they apply the same rule. Use an example with a total above 22, such as 39: digit addition gives 12, while subtracting 22 gives 17.
Next compare A, B, C, D, and E before inner points. Record each intermediate sum. Keeping a raw value where the formula calls for a reduced position can change later results. Also check the Arcana numbering: this site uses Justice 8, Strength 11, and Fool 22. A Tarot deck with another numbering order does not automatically use another birth-date calculation, but its labels need to be distinguished from the chart’s labels.
Questions about reading your chart
Do you need a birth time or birthplace? No. This calculator uses only day, month, and year. Should you reduce 19 to 1 or 22 to 4? No. Completed values from 1 to 22 stay unchanged. Is every repeated number a stronger trait? The formulas reuse earlier values, so repetition can arise from the construction. Read each occurrence in its position rather than inventing an intensity score.
Can two people have the same chart? People with the same birth date get the same personal chart under this method, and their experiences can still differ. Does the diagram show a soulmate or a scheduled event? It provides neither a validated relationship measure nor an event forecast. How should you save a reading? Use the local report or SVG download, then keep the file private if it contains your actual date.
What should you do next? Calculate the example date on the homepage and select center E. Compare its formula with this guide, then open the full Arcana 6 article for more context. Select D1 and C1 to trace the two line entries. This sequence checks that you understand the diagram before adding an interpretation. When you enter your own date, repeat the same small set of checks rather than assuming the example’s themes also apply to your chart.
